Liberia has received strong contributions from a small but growing group of foundations and philanthropists who have provided valuable support in addition to Liberia’s traditional bilateral and multilateral partners.
The Liberia Philanthropy Secretariat was established in an effort to strengthen philanthropist supported contributions in Liberia. The program represents a new model for donor-government collaboration in countries in transition that seeks to increase the effectiveness and impact of philanthropist supported activities.
The Liberia Philanthropy Secretariat has two primary goals:
I. Engage philanthropic actors by encouraging information sharing and collaboration between the Government of Liberia, foundations, and the civil society.
II. Expand philanthropic support to Liberia.
